WALKING IN THE WISDOM OF GOD

The Wisdom of God is the supreme 1 Timothy 1:17. It is the ultimate of which no man can come into unless he has a walk with God. It is only by intimacy with God that you come into understanding the wisdom of God. Jeremiah 9:24 The wisdom of God is revealed in all the things we can see and we cannot see. Jude 1:25

25 To God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

Jude 25 NKJV

It is the light by which we see into the will of God maximizing times and seasons in our life. It is by the wisdom of God that we know God and his existence 1 John 1:5-7. The air we breathe, the weather, the sun, moon and stars talk about the wisdom of God. It is as we relate with this understanding that we are changed and transformed. Romans 1:20

5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7 NKJV

The wisdom of God is revealed in his rulership, his kingdom who is far above all things including all demonic forces in the dark world. It is this wisdom that reveals that God is God above all and overall Ephesians 1:21. Actually, our natural mind cannot fully comprehend what the wisdom of God entails. It takes our union with him to understand even the little he had given us to comprehend 1 Cor 2:9.

9 But as it is written:

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,

Nor have entered into the heart of man

The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”*

1 Cor 2:9 NKJV

Ah Lord God! That’s the exclamation of Jeremiah when God reveals his magnificent to him. Jeremiah 23:17 The wisdom of God was with Solomon when he began to rule over the land of Israel 1 Kings 3:12. The scriptures speaks of the mighty acts of God at work in Solomon in making decisions in all affairs of life. It is this wisdom that exalted Solomon and made his name great 1 Kings 4:24. Of course, you can’t possess the wisdom of God and be small. 1 Kings 4:29-34

This is because you can’t carry the greater one in the inside of you and remain small 1John 4:4. No way! It is by wisdom that Solomon built the house of the Lord and finished it. It is by wisdom he deals with Kings all around his kingdom such that he didn’t need to fight a battle and his kingdom was surrounded with peace. There is so much Solomon accomplished by the wisdom of God. 1Kings 5:5, 1 Kings 6:14

Jude 1:25

Romans 1:20

12 “Concerning this temple which you are building, if you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, then I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David. 13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.”

14 So Solomon built the temple and finished it.

1 Kings 6:12-14 NKJV

The wisdom of God is contactable. I mean God gives wisdom and he is willing to give his children so much wisdom to deal in all affairs of life James 1:5. Therefore, you can receive that wisdom. This is the wisdom that Queen Esther exhibited that distinguished her in all realms in the palace James 3:13. The wisdom of God helped her transcend from an ordinary slave to a queen that is honored and highly respected. Ecclesiastes 2:13

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.

James 3:13 NKJV

Queen Esther became an undeniable pillar in a strange land by the wisdom of God. Could you ever imagine what could have happened to her if she didn’t yield to the will of the Father? Esther 2:10 The death of her family, her kindred, the Jews and the people of God Esther 4:6. Her willingness to go extra mile ensuring that she do that will of the Father. This is the wisdom of God at work; the manner at which she approaches the king and her request. Indeed, this can only be the wisdom of God. Esther 5:1

Haman could have thought that the life of the Mordecai and the Jews is about to end in a moment but for the wisdom of God Esther 3:14-15. Can you imagine, a life without the wisdom of God. It is a life at the mercy of the enemy and his cohorts. Every believer has a right to ask for the wisdom of God to live life to its fullness. Have you ever seen a foolish man or woman? One of the easily recognizable traits of a foolish man is that his life is open to any form of satanic attacks and manipulation. Proverbs 10:14

4 Wise people store up knowledge,

But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

Prov 10:14 NKJV

It is easy for the enemy to destroy a foolish man because he is not walking in the wisdom of God.  A wise man is one understands who he is in Christ Jesus and take his rightful position as a believer. The wisdom of God came upon him when he receives Jesus as Lord and savior; that’s when walking in wisdom begins from but it does not end there Ephesians 1:11-12. It continues as we continually walk with the Lord in truth and in Spirit. Just like oxygen, you can’t breathe a moment and choose not to breathe again. For your sustenance in this realm, you have to breath non-stop.

Just like breath is to life, intimacy with God which brings about walking in the wisdom of God is to a believer is important. No man can truly become if he did not have the wisdom of God at work in him Colossians 2:9. It is by walking in wisdom that all our paths are directed and we are helped to fulfill destiny just like God has planned it since the foundations of the world.

11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

Eph 1:11-12 NKJV

Therefore, it is not enough to be born again. It is very important to maintain a life of walking for God. What differentiates David from his brethren is his intimacy with the Father despite his humble background or the circumstances he had passed through Psalm 42:1. David lived in the back side of the wilderness with his father’s sheep still he would not let God be far from him. He loved God so much he forgot about his physical circumstances and situation. 1 Samuel 17:37

The wisdom of God helps us to see God in the light of his word. It enables us to see as God sees, react to things as God would and help us to make decisions that transcends generations. Can you imagine Jehoshaphat the king of Israel, he was about to wage battle against three strong nations quite bigger and stronger physically than his army but instead of using the human calculator that is deficient of the wisdom of God, he enquired of the Lord. What? To a natural man that’s really insane and foolish but not to God, the only wise God.  2 Chronicles 20:1

King Jehoshaphat enquired of the Lord and he received specific instructions as touching what to do and how to do what he would do 2 Chronicles 20:3. He went into action obeying all of God’s instructions concerning the order of arrangement for the battle. Can you imagine having to prepare for war and instead of training your warriors you are busy training and preparing priest who will be ministering to the Lord with music and all manner of instruments. 2 Chronicles 20:17

On the day of the battle Singers were arrayed ready to sing the praise of God. Wow! Everyone ready to sing and shout praises unto the Lord as God has instructed even the warriors were not there to fight but to worship. Everyone became a worshipper and only God the man of war swing into action without leaving his throne. Glory to God! 2 Chronicles 20:25 Every enemy lost their lives, they killed each other mercilessly as if they have forgotten what they came to do. “They help each other to kill each other”. Isn’t that amazing!

King Jehoshaphat and the people of Israel just arrived at the battle field and instead of fighting a battle only came to pack the spoil of war. God himself, I mean the only wise God finish the work and glorified himself amongst his people. Not even one warrior fought nor was anyone injured. 2 Chronicles 20:27-31 That’s the wisdom of God at work again. Indeed, it takes a Fool to say there is no God.

I can continue over and over again to talk about the wisdom of God, it is more than I can say. Have you observed the day and night, seasons and all of God’s creation? They reveal God’s wisdom. Let’s go see Gideon, the last child in his father’s house, a very timid man with no sense of belonging, fearful and hungry boy who was trying to thresh wheat in a winepress in order to hide it from the Midianites. He was so fearful when the angel of God appeared to him and greeted him calling him a mighty man of Valor, he was amazed thinking “this must be a joke or something”. It looks too far from the truth because of his present situation. Judges 6:1-18

12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

Judges 6:12 NKJV

This same Gideon became a mighty man of Valor through God. He fought battles by the wisdom of God and led the victory God spoke about to the people of Israel Judges 6:12. Truly, it is not by power or might but by the Spirit of God. The wisdom of God is supplied by the Spirit of God at work in us. The Spirit of God is the convener of every gift that God gives his children. Zechariah 4:6

6 So he answered and said to me:

“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:

‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, ‘Says the Lord of hosts.

Zechariah 4:6 NKJV

It is high time we walk in the wisdom of God to maximize our time here on earth. If we don’t want to struggle then we need the wisdom of God. Struggling wastes time and energy. Life is short we need to live deliberately by walking in the wisdom of God. Just like Jesus he said I will do the work of the father while it is day because the night comes when no man can work.

30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption —

1 Cor 1:30 NKJV

2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Heb 12:2 NKJV
